Quickoffice® Brings Microsoft® Office Support to the Latest Android Devices Through Multiple OEM Partnerships

Companys increased momentum on newest mobile platform brings Word®, Excel® and PowerPoint® document viewing capabilities to a growing user base

Dallas, TX - January 7, 2010 - the leading global provider of mobile office productivity software, further established its strong position in Android Market™, seeing its application pre-loaded on the latest devices from multiple original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnerships. Quickoffice is currently available 'out of the box' on the HTC Magic and DROID ERIS by HTC for Verizon Wireless, Motorola's CLIQ™, DEXT™ and DROID devices and will be available on the recently announced Nexus One™ phone. By offering office productivity functionality, Quickoffice makes it easy for users to access, view and manage Microsoft Office files on the go.

Quickoffice enables users to view standard Microsoft Office files directly on their device. Providing a streamlined user viewing experience on Android™ devices, Quickoffice also features robust zoom and scrolling capabilities throughout documents. 'Active' hyperlinks to telephone numbers, Web sites and email addresses are supported in documents to allow for quick and easy one-touch actions. Whether the files are received as Gmail attachments or transferred to the device manually, users can view their documents across the entire range of Microsoft Office '97-2007 and Adobe PDF 1.4-1.8 file formats, depending on the file formats supported by each device.

"The Android ecosystem continues to rapidly expand and is becoming a formidable smartphone competitor that is gaining many new consumers worldwide," said Gregg Fiddes, vice president sales and strategic partnerships at Quickoffice. "Our cross-platform strategy includes Android devices and we are pleased to add HTC, Motorola and the latest Android device, Nexus One, to our growing list of Android-based partners."

According to Gartner Research, more than 75 million Android handsets will ship in 2012, making the Android mobile operating system the second most popular smartphone OS behind Symbian. A long-time mobile office software leader on Symbian, shipping on tens of millions of smartphone devices annually, Quickoffice continues to gain momentum by also expanding cross-platform to support Android and the iPhone.
