Janice Roberts Managing Director, Mayfield

Janice Roberts’ unique blend of general management skills, marketing expertise and global perspective renders her an entrepreneur’s ideal partner. As a Managing Director at Mayfield, Ms Roberts brings her experience and expertise to the firm’s communications and networking companies. Currently she serves on the boards of promising innovators Aliph, Convedia, Mobile Digital Media, Inc., Peribit Networks, Pixim, PlayFirst, and Ubicom. In 2004, Ms Roberts was named as one of the most influential business women in the United States by the San Francisco Business Times.

Ms Roberts also lends her depth of knowledge to the Development Council of the Enterpreneur’s Foundation, a non-profit organization that encourages entrepreneurs to become more involved with their community.

Prior to joining Mayfield in June 2000, Ms Roberts built a successful and synergistic early-stage investment portfolio for 3Com Corporation. She also led 3Com’s Global Marketing and Business Development Operations and spearheaded a number of new business initiatives, such as 3Com’s highly successful Palm Computing subsidiary. An engaging speaker and acknowledged thought leader in the evolving mobile communications arena, Ms Roberts holds an honors degree in Commerce (Economics and Finance) from the University of Birmingham in the U.K. and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Barry Cottle Co-Founder

Barry Cottle led the spin out of Mobile Digital Media (recently converted to Quickoffice) from Palm in 2002 after serving for almost three years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Internet Officer at Palm, Inc. After joining Palm as an Executive Officer prior to Palm’s IPO, Mr. Cottle built and oversaw Palm’s wireless and Internet content/services division - creating Palm’s award winning MyPalm wireless portal and the largest wireless ISP in North America. In addition, Mr. Cottle set the company’s worldwide strategic direction for Palm mobile content and services, driving all carrier and content alliances.

Prior to Palm, Mr. Cottle spent nine years with The Walt Disney Company, where he served most recently as Senior Vice President of Marketing of Disney TeleVentures and CMO of Americast, the Disney division leading the $500M joint venture with SBC, Ameritech, GTE, BellSouth, and SNET to develop digital TV and broadband Internet applications and services. Mr. Cottle led Disney’s efforts in marketing, content development and distribution for innovative services such as video-on-demand, web-TV, and TV navigation.

Mr. Cottle has spent his career building successful businesses that leveraging technology and distribution to create compelling consumer products and services. Prior to Disney, Mr. Cottle worked at Hallmark Cards, Andersen Consulting, Apple Computer, and Trammell Crow.

Mr. Cottle received his BS Degree in Information Services and Mathematics from Missouri State University (formerly SMSU), Summa Cum Laude, and his MBA with honors from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Patrick McVeigh

Patrick McVeigh was the CEO of PalmSource, Inc., (NASDAQ = PSRC) a leading developer of operating systems for mobile devices. Under his leadership, the company refocused its development efforts on a Linux based, operating system and gained commitments from leading handset vendors to develop on this new platform. Mr. McVeigh lead the company through a very successful competitive bidding process which resulted in the company being acquired by ACCESS Company Ltd.

Before joining PalmSource in February of 2005, Mr. McVeigh amassed over 20 years of experience in the high technology and consumer electronics industry. He is the former CEO of Aliph Corporation, a developer of next-generation audio and speech technologies for mobile communications devices. Mr. McVeigh founded the Omnisky Corporation, an industry leading provider of next generation wireless data services to major wireless carriers such as ATT Wireless and Verizon. As Chairman and CEO, he lead the development and execution of the launch of service within one year of founding the business, growing revenues from $0 to $43 million on a run rate basis. He raised over $250MM in funding through private and public offerings and eventually sold the business to Earthlink.

Mr. McVeigh was also with Palm, Inc. where he was responsible for worldwide sales of all Palm products as well as international marketing and operations. While with Palm, he drove sales from $0 to $800 million run rate in three years. Before joining Palm, Mr. McVeigh spent over 10 years with Apple Computer in a variety of sales and marketing positions.

Mr. McVeigh holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. in the U.K. and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Peter L. Thoren Executive Vice President, Access Industries, Inc.

Peter L. Thoren is Executive Vice President of Access Industries, Inc., a global private investment firm with a diversified portfolio in energy, minerals and mining, telecommunications and financial services. The firm is active in Russia, Eurasia, Western Europe and the United States. Access recently completed the largest transaction in Russian corporate history, a $7.7 billion joint venture involving British Petroleum, Access-Renova and Alfa Group. The deal created TNK-BP, Russia’s third largest oil and gas company, which is currently producing 1.2 million barrels of oil per day.

Prior to joining Access Industries, Mr. Thoren was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Walker Digital LLC, the founder of Priceline.com. Previously, he served in management positions with Salomon Inc and Citigroup working on various acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.

Mr. Thoren graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Phi Beta Kappa) and received a degree in Russian Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Mr. Thoren received his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the New York State Bar.

Tom Siegel Managing Director and Co-Founder, Shepherd Ventures

Tom Siegel has over 20 years’ experience in venture capital, entrepreneurial ventures and management consulting.

As Senior Vice President of Advantage Capital Partners, a $700 million early stage venture fund, Mr. Siegel’s investments resulted in several public offerings. He was the founder of the National Association of Venture Forums (NAVF) and the US Small Business Administration selected him as a Financial Services Advocate of the Year in 2000. Prior to Advantage Capital, Mr.Siegel was the publisher of the Dealmaker’s Digest, and founded a leading regional computer software developer and systems integrator. Earlier in his career, Mr. Siegel was a Management Consultant with, and a member of the M&A Group of KPMG Peat Marwick.

Mr. Siegel received a BA in Economics and an MBA from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is a member of the CFA Institute and is Chairman and President of the CFA Society of San Diego. Additionally, he is active in the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA).

Alan Masarek President, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Prior to co-founding Quickoffice’s predecessor company, Mobile Digital Media (“MDM”) in 2002, Alan Masarek served as Managing General Partner of Cavalry Capital & Advisory, LLC, a boutique private equity firm that led the structuring of MDM as a company independent from Palm, Inc.

Mr. Masarek is a professional manager and financier experienced in managing and financing businesses of varying sizes within multiple industries. Quickoffice is the fifth operating company Mr. Masarek has led. Mr. Masarek has also has raised hundreds of million of dollars in equity and debt capital and managed multiple company acquisitions, divestitures, and re-capitalization.

Mr. Masarek began his career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co. for five years, followed after business school by three years as an acquisitions specialist at The NTC Group, a New York-based leveraged buyout firm with controlling ownership positions in portfolio companies with $550 million in revenues.

Mr. Masarek received his B.B.A., Accounting, from The University of Georgia, Magna Cum Laude and his M.B.A., from Harvard Business School, With Distinction. He is a Member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
